NA Selank Amidate (N-Acetyl Selank Amidate)
NA Selank Amidate is a refined, high-stability version of the Russian peptide Selank. Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide built on the endogenous immunomodulatory tetrapeptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), extended with a Pro-Gly-Pro sequence for improved biological activity and basic resistance to breakdown. NA Selank Amidate incorporates the same two stabilizing modifications used in its Semax counterpart: N-terminal acetylation and C-terminal amidation.
These terminal changes protect the peptide from both aminopeptidases and carboxypeptidases, the primary enzymes responsible for rapid peptide degradation in plasma and tissue. As a result, NA Selank Amidate exhibits markedly higher metabolic stability, an extended half-life, better bioavailability, and improved penetration into the central nervous system compared with standard Selank.
The enhanced pharmacokinetic profile makes NA Selank Amidate more potent per milligram and longer-lasting. Lower doses are typically sufficient to achieve the desired effects, and the duration of action is prolonged relative to the parent compound. The fundamental pharmacology, however, stays consistent with Selank.
Selank and its amidated/acetylated form act primarily through modulation of the GABAergic system, producing anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) effects without the sedation, cognitive impairment, or dependence risk associated with classic benzodiazepines. Additional actions include elevation of BDNF, influence on serotonergic and dopaminergic signaling, inhibition of enkephalin-degrading enzymes, and mild immunomodulatory effects. Together these support reduced anxiety and stress reactivity, improved emotional balance, clearer thinking under pressure, and general cognitive support.
Because of its superior stability, NA Selank Amidate delivers these benefits more efficiently and with greater consistency than unmodified Selank, making it a preferred option when longer duration or reduced dosing frequency is desired.
In summary, NA Selank Amidate retains the unique calming-yet-clearing profile of Selank while addressing the original peptide’s relatively short biological half-life through targeted chemical protection of both ends of the molecule.
