Selank (also called TP-7) is a lab-made synthetic heptapeptide – a precise chain of just 7 amino acids (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) derived from the natural immune peptide tuftsin. Developed in the early 2000s by researchers at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, it’s designed to cross the blood-brain barrier easily. In Russia it’s an approved prescription (and over-the-counter since 2017) nasal spray medication for generalized anxiety disorder and neurasthenia. Elsewhere it’s strictly a research chemical, usually available as nasal spray or injectable
Think of Selank as a ‘calm-and-focus’ brain tuner. It gently balances neurotransmitters and immune signals without sedation or addiction risk.
How it works (super simple):
– Modulates GABA-A receptors (like a mild benzodiazepine but safer).
– Boosts serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline for mood and cognition.
– Inhibits enkephalin-degrading enzymes (natural opioids that reduce stress).
– Influences gene expression in GABAergic pathways and provides mild immune modulation via its tuftsin origin
Selank has one of the cleanest safety profiles among researched peptides – decades of Russian use with almost no serious issues.
In clinical studies: Extremely well-tolerated; no sedation, dependence, withdrawal, or cognitive dulling (unlike benzos).
Mild/rare effects:
– Occasional fatigue or dizziness (rare and transient).
Bigger caveats:
– Limited long-term Western data – most evidence is from shorter Russian trials.
– Not for pregnancy/breastfeeding or under medical supervision if you have severe psychiatric conditions.
Bottom line: Far safer and non-addictive than traditional anti-anxiety meds for most users, but still experimental outside Russia.
No official Western guidelines (research only), but these follow Russian approved protocols and clinic use.
Method of Administration: Subcutaneous into fatty tissue.

Cycling: Use 8 weeks on/ 8 weeks off.
Tip: Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water; store in fridge. Use insulin syringes and sterile technique. Many use it intermittently during high-stress periods rather than continuously.
