Thymalin is a lab-made synthetic bioregulator peptide complex (a mixture of short peptides extracted and synthesized from calf thymus gland). Developed in Russia by Professor Vladimir Khavinson, it is one of the original ‘cytomedins’ designed to restore and normalize thymic (immune) function. It is administered via subcutaneous injection and remains a cornerstone of Russian longevity and immune research.
Thymalin has one of the best safety profiles among all bioregulators – extremely well-tolerated even in elderly patients.
In clinical use: No serious adverse events reported in decades of Russian studies.
Mild/rare effects:
– Occasional injection-site redness or mild warmth.
– Very rare transient fatigue on the first few days.
Bigger caveats:
– Unknown ultra-long-term effects in Western populations (most data from Russian trials).
– Real-world danger: unregulated products may vary in purity.
