HCG 10,000 IU is a standard lyophilized (freeze-dried) vial of human chorionic gonadotropin. It is a prescription hormone that acts like luteinizing hormone (LH). Brands include Pregnyl and Novarel, plus generics.
This is general reference information, not dosing advice. Follow the product label and a clinician’s instructions.
Labeled uses
• Ovulation trigger in women (after FSH or menotropins): often a single 5,000–10,000 IU dose, about 36 hours before retrieval or timed intercourse.
• Male hypogonadotropic hypogonadism: regimens in the range of hundreds to a few thousand IU, several times a week, sometimes for months.
• Prepubertal cryptorchidism in boys: lower, short courses.
Common off-label use
As a TRT adjunct, clinicians often use about 250–500 IU subcutaneously 2–3 times weekly to support testicular size, intratesticular testosterone, and fertility while on exogenous testosterone. Higher doses (often 1,000–2,500 IU, 2–3 times weekly, sometimes with FSH) are used when the goal is spermatogenesis. The classic fertility-trigger dose is many times larger than a typical TRT-maintenance dose.
